We got up after a not so great sleep with the mosque making noise into the early hours. We got an early breakfast so we could get to the dive shop on time. We got down there filled in the paperwork and paid. Our dive master had already set up some of our kit so we just had to try on the rest. He went over a few things with us and talked about where we were going then we got on the boat and set off. On the boat there was us and our dive master and a guy with his instructor, that was it so very chilled and loads of room. When we came to a stop we got our kit on, our dive master then sat in the edge of the boat and told us to cross our legs. We both said wait so we go into the water backwards? He just said yes, ok so there's a first time for everything! I got myself ready some guy tried to count me down but I was determined to go when I was ready, it wasn't so bad. James went off the other side of the boat, the boat moved away leaving us where we would start our dive, you just had to watch out for the big bamboo bars on the side of the boat. We went down, just putting your head under at first was amazing, the visibility was really clear. We sort of did a circle a huge coral, we saw a turtle, a huge moray eel, a Titan triggerfish, loads of clown fish and a mantis shrimp. The coral was absolutely beautiful with thousands of brightly coloured fish swimming all around it. We were under for about 35 minutes when it was time to go up. At the top the waves were really choppy, the boat came close then we had to get between the boat and the bamboo in the giant waves, not easy. Holding onto rope at the side we took off our weight belts and fins and passed them up then got up ourselves. We got our kit off and sat down on the boat then went to pick up the other guys. On the trip back the waves came up and inside the boat loads, when we pulled up to the shore the best place to get out of the boat was in waist deep water. A little drenched we filled in our log books and then wandered back to our room to get showers and changed. It was only 11.00am by now, it feels like we've done loads already today. It started to rain not long after we got back so we chilled at the bungalow for a bit. We talked to the guy who's homestay it is, we asked about the mosque yesterday and he said it was a special day for Muslims. He said the mosque does this once a year, I guess we were just unlucky then!! A little later we went out to use some Internet and to get something to eat. We should sleep well tonight!
