We went out for the day to find somewhere with wifi and where we could chill. We found somewhere where we could lay our blanket out in front and go in and out when we fancy something to eat. We went out snorkeling, there was quite a current in the water so the easiest thing to do seemed to be walk up the beach, get in to snorkel and drift along with the current. One of the times we went out we saw an old rusted motorbike under the water. There were loads of fish swimming round it and coral had starting to grow on it. There was loads to see and lots of silver fish swimming around us. We were talking to a guy from the restaurant because we'd asked him if we could leave our bags while we snorkel. He said they would be very safe, apparently there are no police on any of the Gili islands and if anyone steals anything they have to wear a sandwich board sort of thing with thief written on and empty coke cans dragging behind them and they're not allowed back on the island! Funny!! After we'd finished snorkeling we wandered back to our place to get showers, the showers are funny here. It had no temperature gauge and is only heated by the sun throughout the day so the very first water to come out is boiling!! We sat outside before going out for something to eat, there was a power cut and a young guy came to sort it out. He started talking to us, one of the questions he asked was what temperature would it be in our country now. We had a guess and he just laughed, he said the coldest it gets here ever is 18-20 degrees. We said we get lots of snow, he replied that they gets snow too.....in the freezer! He was nice, in fact every one of the locals we have met so far seem really nice and very friendly, one of the best things is they don't try to automatically sell you things at every opportunity, it makes a nice change.
