We got up early to get the island hopping boat to Gili Air this morning. We want to go across to see if we want to stay there for the four nights at the end we haven't yet booked. The boat across was a mix of people going to Gili Meno or Air and a mix of day trippers like us or people with luggage moving islands. Gili Air is walkable all the way around in 90 minutes so we decided to do just that and look for potential accommodation on the way. The island was pretty and not as many shops and restaurants as Gili T so a little quieter. We were looking at the beaches to see if there was an awesome beach we could stay very close to but nothing jumped out as being as good as GIli T. Once we'd walked all the way round we found somewhere to stop and get something to eat and chill until it was time to get the boat back. We got back to the waiting point for the boat and a few minutes later it started to rain, not great for people leaving the island with their luggage. It also meant for a little rougher crossing by boat, the sea is strange here it swells hugely in odd places and huge waves crash in the sea between the islands. We did see some very good surfers all the way out there and I suppose that's why they're here. When we got back to Gili T it was still raining so we headed back to our place to wait while it stopped. We still haven't made our minds up about whether to move islands but we'll keep thinking. We went out to the night market for tea and got chicken and fish with rice and veg with the hottest chilli sauce I've ever tasted! We found a different pancake man, who had pineapple jam as a topping, it was much better than the last one we had. We got a drink and used the wifi at the Irish bar here and then wandered back.
