Another day of pleasant surprises today. We ventured along the Gibb River Road to El Questro, and although there were some rough sections, the road was smoother than I was expecting. This afternoon we wanted to hire a boat in Chamberlain Gorge, but when that didn’t pan out we explored the 4WD track to Explosion Gorge. I’ve been wanting to take the boys four-wheeling for ages, so today we finally managed it. The first challenge was a wide rocky creek crossing, and I mean seriously wide, like 200 metres or so. Then we had some sand and some rocks, so we had a taste of everything. The gorge was very scenic, but my favourite part was coming back across the creek crossing just after sunset, with the colours reflecting off the water, as you can see in the photo. Hardcore? You betcha!
