First stop today was at Ilfracombe, where they have a huge collection of old vehicles and machinery arranged in a single row between the highway and the railway line. Today we passed through the hamlet of McKinlay, whose pub featured in the Crocodile Dundee movies as the “Walkabout Creek Hotel”. I took a photo, but this one off the net is better. Today’s pleasant surprises were two-fold. Next to last night’s campground at Camooweal is a huge truck parking area capable of holding a dozen road trains. As soon as we turned out the light last night, a breeze began to blow, and gusted all night; it wasn’t a gale or anything, but enough to make the tent flap and the campers squeak, and blow some cloud over us.
