Day1
After a 5 hour delay stuck on Heathrow runway due to a hydraulic leak on our plane, we left on our BA 11 hour flight to San Francisco.
Food on the plane wasn’t all that and there was a strange man behind us who was attempting to sleep on the floor between the seats which was amusing, a row kicked off in front of us between a man whose son had a nut allergy and a lady who was hell bent on eating a bag of peanuts. In the end she was moved, personally I think she done it to get a free upgrade to Club Class.
Out air hostess was the most miserable hostess we had ever come across, and you felt like you were going to get your head snapped off if you asked for anything.
Anyway, we finally landed, got through passport control after loads of questions which Mum and Chris didn’t know the answers to, or gave different answers to which didn’t help i.e. where are going and how long are you going for?
We found a shuttle to take us o our airport hotel. We had to stay in a hotel for the first night as you aren’t allowed to pick up the RV the same day as you land just in case you have a massive delay and are really tired.
Our hotel was called The Embassy Suites and we had a huge suite overlooking the sea. There was a huge covered tropical garden in the middle of the hotel. We dumped our cases in the room then went down for some dinner, but I nearly fell asleep in my burger, so we went early to bed as we knew we had a long day the next day. I nearly left my favourite baseball cap in the restaurant, but a lady followed us out and gave it back to me.
