We dropped an hour or so trying to launder in our room, before giving up and packing ourselves off to the laundromat. Through windy alleys we found our way to a little Laundromat all set up next to a pizza bar. Two litres, three pizzas, a vodka, two dupio macchiato's and two gelatos later the laundry was done and so were we :)
The weather was fantastic all day, from what I could lake out from the news we're in the middle of a "Super Luca" leading to rising tides all over the region and a flooded Piazza San Marco for us to wheel the laundry through. We dropped off our clothes and headed off to Rialto. The family had heard a rumor there was a Disney store on the island, imagine a Disney store we have never visited? Emerson was so desperate she cornered a cop into giving her directions. LIttle G as has titled himself (short for GPS) was in his element telling us all how stupid we were for not being able to match his navigational agility.
We took a lazy afternoon stroll around Rialto before getting set up for dinner at the Bauer hotel. Dad had arranged a table for us all right out on the Grand Canal, but unfortunately the weather had other ideas - big thick dark clouds looked like they might blow over at one point but soon we were scurrying off the deck, proper Far North Queensland dumping this was. We relocated to a cosy table inside and watched the downpour.
Dinner was too delicious to hurry - Foie Gras and Cherries followed by Lobster Ravioli left no room for dessert and no time for a Gondola ride. We plan an early start and onto a Gondola early to beat the tourists tomorrow.
