Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Our flight with Qatar was well above the norm. I can see why they call themselves the only 5 star airline. Didnt get much sleep, there seemed to be alot of people and babies that wanted attention.
Anyway we arrived without incident.
Caught the train to the Novotel in Ploenchit. It is a brand new building that has only been opened 3 weeks. The breakfast was truly amazing, so much to choose from.
We wanted to see the Grand Palace and the reclining Buddha. Both were eye openers. We were transported there by a Tuk-tuk. These are a great way to get around, and cheap. The drivers here are not shy, and will happily drive on the wrong side of the road, regardless if there is head-on traffic.
Got a little bit muggy with the humidity, so we were glad to cool off in the room.
Tomorrow we leave for Macau.

Adrya Kovarch Oh what a lovely shot - looks very familiar - know Thailand quite well. I do adore their animistic ways. This looks a bit more up market to what i remember
Adrya Kovarch This is a great precinct - many tourist dollars went into maintaining these temples and it shows. Well worth preserving don't you think?
Adrya Kovarch Great shot of the Grand Palace Alan. How are you coping with the rising humidity and general heat as you reach the equator and Australia?
Adrya Kovarch They really are quite extravagant Asians with their own special designs and architecture and profuse use of gold!
Adrya Kovarch Oh yes - I remember this well. Good shot Alan to take in the length of the Buddha - really does it justice.
Adrya Kovarch It is so much more pretty and colourful than i remember.
