Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Well after many delays we arrived in Singapore. No fault of Qantas, just bad weather.
We spent our first day seeing the city on a free bus tour. Great way to get acquainted with the city.
Our first impressions of Singapore is what a beautiful, clean city. The city is well laid out, very little traffic noise, and very clean.
After the bus tour we headed to the Sands Skypark Casino. The rooftop view is amazing. Not sure if its worth $20. Using the MRT(subway) in Singapore is a breeze, and very cheap. We then headed to China Town, and then to Orchard Street, a shoppers paradise. Nearly every brand name in the world is here in Orchard Street.
We must have walked 10ks, as we are both suffering from sore legs and feet. The weather has been ok, a little warm but fairly humid. To cool off we duck into a nice air conditioned shop for a while.
The food here is amazing if you like Asian food, and its so cheap. $3.50SGD for a big plate of rice/noodles with veg and meat. Love the sugar cane juice, squeezed fresh before your eyes.
Today we will visit the Botanic gardens and the Orchard gardens.
Saturday we fly to New Delhi with Air Asia. I paid an extra $50 each to upgrade to first class. What a bargain!
