12/1/2011 Today we wake to blue skies and a cool 15 degrees. After a nice breakfast we drive to a place called Jerash. Its about 40ks north of Amman, and it took about 1 hour. The traffic here is shocking. Jerash has the largest most preserved Roman buildings in the world. The admission fees are reasonable this time, about $11AU each. The drive to Amman was pretty boring, as we expected, it is a desert. We arrived at the Toledo Hotel after a harrowing drive through the traffic. They are such bad drivers. The hotel is quite nice, and located in a quieter area of Amman. After checking in at around 1.30pm, we go for a long walk down into the Old city to visit the Roman Amphitheater and the Amman Citadel. 10/1/2011 Retired early last night to try and recover from this rotten cold. We had dinner at the Hotel, $9AU each for a full buffet. The selection wasn't great, but the food was very tasty.
