15/12 Today we drove the 160kms each way to stand on the famous Bonneville Salt lake. There is so much history here if you are into speed. The drive was a little boring as the scenery was not that interesting. Plus the weather was very overcast with low cloud and a smog cloud. 12/11/12 Awoke to a dismay rainy day. Killed off any plans of short walks in the park. Decided to go to the lookout at the top of Zion Canyon. A short drive followed by a 1 kilometer walk. The walk required a steep climb up the side of the mountain. We thought we were prepared by rugging up, and taking umbrellas. It started to snow lightly at the start of the walk, no big deal. 8/12 to 10/12 Nothing exciting happened over the last 3 days. Just cruised the local Sedona area, and visited Prescott, Jerome and Cottonwood. Jerome is a little mining town perched on the side of a mountain. The town dates back a long time, so there were some very old buildings to see. The road to Jerome was tight and twisty and steep. 4/12 Today we spent driving for about 8 hours from Moab to Sedona. The drive took us through Monument Valley, truly breath taking. No picture can capture the amazing colours and vastness of this place. It was a lonely drive, as Monument Valley is on what we call a back road, not a main highway. 30/11/11 1/12/11 Spent the last few days in Breckenridge sightseeing. Took the free gondola ride to the ski slopes, but not much of a view for any good pictures. Breckenridge, along with Vail etc are like ghost towns. There are just no tourist's. Could be the lack of good snow, or the GFC.
