Brenton Kovacs's Travels
We arrived at the hotel at 5am, after landing at 3am. We checked into the room, and managed to get some sleep to 11am. Changed rooms as the shower did not work. Walked through Damascus Gates into the old city. Its not what i expected. Lots of very small stalls selling absolutely everything. There is a lot of yelling and chaos as vendors try to get your attention. As we get deeper into the old city it does get quieter. The wailing wall was very busy. Left via Jaffa gate and walked back to the hotel. There was just as much chaos along the streets with little old ladies selling fresh produce to people selling chinese imports. Glad to get back to the hotel.
There is a lot of litter and rubbish on the streets. People dont seem to care about keeping their city clean. This place seems to shut down at around 5pm, with all the stall holders packing up. The streets become very bare and quiet. We found this out when we went for a walk around the hotel to see what we can get to eat. Luckily there was a nice guy running a very clean kebab shop who could speak english. This was re-assuring as we now know what we were ordering.
Will have an early night tonight, feeling a little sleepy right now.

Adrya Kovarch How spectacular - i am impressed you went to Jeruselum. I have never been there - but to see it would be quite an experience.
Adrya Kovarch Looks cold but interesting.
Adrya Kovarch Did you buy anthing or were you just looking?
Adrya Kovarch Wow you've actually been there. Are you allowed to put a written prayer into the cracks in the wall or is this preserved for Jew only?
Adrya Kovarch Such an old place.
