Friday 21st June
Trip up to Avignon - Florence the guide’s driving gave me no confidence - seemed to go round in circles to leave AIx - however she was great on her history. Walked through the Papal city - Pope’s Palace spectacular. Saw the Catgedral and walked in the laneways.
Then off to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue - famous for windmills and antiques- where we had lunch overlooking the rive. Then to Gordes - amazingly perched on a cliff.Buildings all built in stone in a very particular way %0- since medieval times ( and must do so still)
Roussillon was last stop - where there is a red ochre quarry - and all houses were painted in the various shades - very pretty.
