Yesterday we left the big smoke of Cairns and drifted about 2 hours south and ended up at a caravan park right on the beach opposite Dunk Island at South Mission

The sun was shining and the wind only light when we arrived and it was a beautiful sight. We set up then had a drive around the local area and organised a white water rafting trip on the nearby Tully River and a sailing trip out to the reef for later in the week. We intend to stay here about a week or so before heading further south to the Bowen area

Its blowing a bit this morning and cloudy even thought it is supposed to clear later so the plan to take a hire boat out around Dunk and Bedara Islands will have to go on hold until later. However only being 20 metres from the beach in a van park full of very social Victorians all escaping the winter we will find it easy to pass the time quite pleasantly
