A bit of a catch up day today after the rain yesterday. Back to normal sun today so drying everything out was a good start then the washing etc etc. Went into to town and strolled around the shops for a few hours and went to a museum that had the first amulance train I have ever seen. (used to ferry people in from outlying towns to hospital when the roads were too wet to drive). Had a beer in the Corones Hotel which was the pub the Qantas founders drank in the night before the airlines first ever passenger flight in 1922. The publican, a greek, provided the inflight catering apparently. Lots a great pictures and memorabilia in the hotel lobby including a great photo of the hotel serving a breakfast of bacon and eggs to the stragglers (all in glamorous outfits, suits and white ties etc) in its courtyard at 4.45am after one of its famous gala balls way back when. Great stuff. Off to the local Cosmos Observatory tonight to view the amazing night sky views you get here with powerful telescopes. Not sure what we will do tomorrow. Will see what the day brings
