Early start to the day. Felafels again for breakfast. I'm starting to think that any day where you have felafels for breakfast has to turn into a good day. Two funny things happened this morning. Firstly, the bunk bed I slept in broke. I was on the top bunk when all of the wooden slats broke and came down on the girl sleeping below me. She is ok. We told the hostel people but they didn't seem surprised or interested. Wasn't funny early this morning, but we are laughing about it now! Another lovely day in Cairo. Lazy start to the day with a sleep in, and then tea and felafels with the girls in my room. Then set off for the Egyptian museum. The museum was simply awe inspiring. The sheer size of some of the monuments and coffins was amazing. And the mummies! These are mummies that are thousands of years old and they still have hair and skin. I'm in Egypt!!!Arrived just before lunch time yesterday. Navigating my way through Egypt immigration was a mission in itself. Thanks to a nice belgium backpacker for showing my the tiny office in the back corner where you buy your visa!The hostel I'm staying at was supposed to provide an airport transfer, but they got the times wrong so I got a taxi into downtown.
