Our travel day ended up to be twice as long as it should have been when Air France overbooked our flight & we ended up bumped for not checking in online. For whatever reason their system wouldn't let us so there we were.
The 2nd flight was also full so they rebooked us through Rome to Genoa. Rome has a nice airport, but it was almost 9pm when we finally arrived at our hotel. They were nice enough to reschedule our driver so that was good.
Portofino is too beautiful for words! We walked to town and climbed to Castello Brown, the site of David's favorite movie, Enchanted April. That movie is the reason we ended up here! The main city area is built around the semi circle of the harbor. The part viewable from our terrace has a huge yacht at anchor that is supposedly Leonardo DiCaprio's. We'll have to do some research on that! Tomorrow we're off again (by train) to the Cinque Terre where it looks like the trails may be closed again because of rain & mud slides. The weather has not been on our side for this trip! Ah well today is beautiful & there is fine wine to be tasted!
