The blog slowed down a bit our last few trip days as we didn't have wifi in our room & had to go down to the breakfast room to get a signal. We kept on moving anyway!
Saturday we visited Ravello, a beautiful little niche in the mountains above Amalfi. In olden days it was a popular artist/author colony & the peace & quiet of the place makes that understandable.
There are no vehicles past the main archway, just a lovely church, shops, & the magic gardens of Villa Cimbrone. We didn't have long to stay here, but enjoyed the beauty of the gardens & surrounding hills.
All too quickly we had to return to Amalfi to catch our return bus to Positano. Rick Steve's notes that buses are tricky in that if they are full they don't stop. We found it was more of an issue that the schedule is erratic, likely due to uncertain traffic on the curvy roads. Our bus back was packed & while we had seats, the aisles were so full when we finally recognized our stop we couldn't get off!
The next stop was on the opposite & higher side of Positano so we had to work our way back to the hotel. Using a fairly rough map we looked for stairs & targeted downhill. Much to our surprise we came out on an intersection we recognized. Found out later we could have taken an in-town shuttle, but that would have been too easy!
