Flew from Perth to Alice Springs, 2.5 hour flight and 1.5 hour time difference from Perth. Hot and Humid is the word, stayed at the Double Tree Hilton. See my review on Trip Advisor do not stay here unless there is no choice!!!
Managed to see some Australian Birds (no the feathered variety) Australian Magpie, Galah, Masked Lapwing and a Yellow Throated Miner (A Honey eater). Had dinner in the hotel and a couple of G&T's on the balcony catching up with the blog and being the laundry boy.
Friday 12th up early as wanted to see some of Alice Springs before we leave for Ayres Rock. Wanted to see the RFDS HQ and then a bit of the town. As most people had warned us seems to be full of unemployed Aborigines. Lesley got a picture of the local Op Shop which is apparently famous if you watch Aussie Soaps;-). We also saw the statue dedicated to the Pioneer Explorer , John McDouall Stuart who mapped the route from Adelaide to Alice Springs in 1862.
Off to Ayres Rock now so catch up on Sunday.
