Saturday 16th
Day at Universal, first things first breakfast at Denny's. what a mistake that was, poor quality, too sweet and the butter was rancid!! Coffee & OJ were the only good things. Off to Universal, found it with some difficulty, easy to park but quite a walk to the Entrance. Entered the park around about 0930 and it was fairly quiet. Decided to walk anti clockwise around the park. First walk through Hollywood , stopped outside The Beverly Wiltshire just in case Richard Gere was about and then Springfield home of the Simpsons. First ride was MIB which was good. Then we entered Diagon Alley to learn Wizarding. Great, ride on Escape from Gringotts Ride, very enjoyable. Stopped for a Butterbeer at Fountain of Fair Fortune, nice but a bit sweet. Then a walk through San Francisco and New York, where we went on Revenge of the Mummy Ride, again very good. Then onto Optimus Prime and the Transformer Ride, excellent best ride in the park. Into the Production zone where only Bob went on the Hollywood Rip ride Rocket, fastest and highest ride in the park. Finally took in Shrek 4D which was good. The use of 3/4D visual effects in the park are really well done. Left the park at 2.30pm for lunch at Panda Express and the The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. Off out for dinner at Bahama Breeze this evening. Had a table overlooking the bar in Bahama Breeze, Spicy Chicken Wings for Lesley and Rack of Ribs for Bob. Great value $50 for the meals and drinks. All in all a great day out
Sunday. 17th
Planned quiet day and laundry catch up. Off to a local Laundrette at 9am, washed and tumble dried two loads for $9.5, breakfast next door to the laundrette in Subway, watched the Chelsea v Arsenal game in the Laundrette!! Filled the car up with fuel for the journey back to Miami tomorrow. Laid out by the pool the rest of the day, sandwich and chips at the Pool bar for lunch and then back up to pack at 4pm.
Out for dinner decided to go to The Pub a 5 minute walk from the Hyatt at Pointe Orlando. Shepards Pie & Haddock & Chips saw us fed. They have about 30 beers on draft, mainly American but around a dozen from Europe. Back to the hotel at 9pm as another long drive early in the morning back to Miami. Thank you Orlando thoroughly enjoyed the visit
