Plan today is try for the second time to catch the train up to Corcovado and then afternoon on the beach. Up for brekkie at 7am then off to the station at the bottom of Corcovado. Got there at nine, another fail the trains had broken down!! So we jumped in a minibus that took us up to the Reservation Centre. Then we had to buy another ticket, again for a minibus that would take us to the top. They gave us a piece of paper saying boarding at 1010!! After waiting in a queue for an hour & a half we finally boarded at 1140!! Temperature was 35 deg C so a bit hot and bothered by then!! However once we got to the top the views were fantastic and there was a bright blue sky. So despite the earlier problems very well worth it, I promise. Back down in yet another two minibuses and then jumped in a taxi back to the hotel. Bit of lunch st the Skol Kiosk on Copacabana and then on to the beach where the JW Marriott Hotel kindly provide recliners and beach towels. Spent a couple of hours in the sea, minor mishap for Bob he got swept away by a huge wave as did his glasses oops. So back to the hotel, shower and a brief interlude then out shopping which was not particularly successful. Back to the hotel to drop off the shopping, walked a block to Mondegao, nice Italian great pasta, a couple of Caipirinha and then back to the hotel. Nice night at the end of a great day.
