My favourite place in the world. Flying visit, leaving Rio around 7am, get there around 11am, lunch, paddle in the sea, then back to Rio. This place is where Bridget Bardot used to disappear to when she wanted to get away from the limelight. What’s houses, golden sands and aqua mine blue seas. It is paradise. My very first Customer when I started work at Rediffusion was Joao Roberto Vieria, Captain in the Brazilian Navy st the time. Today we renewed our friendship, JR and his wife Veronica picked us up from the hotel. We drove to Ferradura Beach in Búzios and spent an hour or so on the beach. We then drove into Búzios, had a walk around, a beer and then lunch in Tierra Chica, a really nice restaurant in the centre of Búzios. After lunch we went and had our photos taken with Mme Bardot and then onto Cabo Frio. I first stayed in Cabo Frio in 1988 working on a Brll 206 Helicopter Simulator for the Brazilian Navy. JR was my customer, and I am happy to report that after a refurb and addition of a visual system the Simulator is still in operation today!! The base was close to Cabo Frio and we stayed at the Malibu Beach Hotel and it is still there today. Búzios and Cabo Frio have changed from my first visit 31 years ago but not to there detriment. We then drove back towards Rio but stopped off in Niteroi when JR and Veronica live, they took us down to the shoreline so we could get pictures of a beautiful sunset over Rio. They then drove us back to our hotel on Copacabana. They then had a busy drive back to their home in Niteroi. They had left home at 0615am and finally got home st 9pm. We are so fortunate to have two such wonderful friends share their day with us and show us a country they love. What an experience, brought back great memories for me and gave Lesley such great new memories. For sure we will be back
