Today I had class again (still boring, no random flying lizards today) and headed to Tanah Lot Temple after lunch. It was a pretty far drive, about 2 hours since it is near the coast. The temple itself is said to have been built in the 15th century, but that's all I know about it. We got there, took a few pics, and then were set loose to explore. Today was really slow. I had class from 9-12 (boring, excerpt a random lizard jumped on a table during lecture and scared everyone) then went back to the homestay. I anticipated to go back out into town, but instead I rested and napped for the rest of the night. I didn't even go out to eat dinner. I still feel pretty sick with a bad cold and have no appetite. Hopefully lots of rest will help

We mostly talked about what public health NGOs each group will be working with--my group will be focusing on the elderly population, and will be going to a nursing home weekly. Startling statistic: my organization receives funding from the Indonesian government (therefore it isn't technically an NGO) to help pay for medicines of the 50 elderly people living at the home, but the funding is now...

Today was even more mellow than yesterday. At 9AM we drove 30 minutes away to Senang Hati ("Happy Hearts") an NGO which houses and is completely run by Balinese living with physical disabilities (polio, blindness, amputations due to accidents, deformities, etc). Their presentation was extremely short, so we had a tour of the vicinity.
