Hey!!

OK we got our bus up to Magnetic Island which was a pain as there was no aircon so it was roasting then it rained alot so we couldn't have the roof hatches open, just a big fat mare to be honest!!! I finished my book the Beach which now has me well worked up for Thailand can't wait, we have decided to skip Malaysia and get a flight straight from Singapore up to Phuket but hey I'll let ya know all about that when it happens. SO we hit Townsville and got a ferry straight over to Magnetic Island only takes about 20 mins but it was still raining!!! Our resort was quite to say the least, it was a touch though as Wizzy and Jo were staying at the same place as us. We asked reception whats good to do here and she suggested going to feed the wild Wallabies, you just walk down the bay at dusk and they all just come out, it was wicked!!! So we went to the shop bought dinner for that night and some veg for the wallabies, we had jacket potatoe for dinner adn a we did the chef from the pub came out and he had 3 Kukaburas sitting in a row waiting to be fed as he was throwing left overs up for them (apparently they are really naughty birds they steal peoples food!!) So we got Wizzy and Jo and headed down the bay with our veg in hand and some extras the receptionist gave us. There was loads of them, they are soooo cute, we had to coax them over just throwing it on the floor in front of us but after a while they came right over and one even sat on Pauls leg!!! They grab your hands aswell to take the food off you!! We headed back and got back just in time as the heavens just opened!!! There are these really wierd birds with long necks and legs which make these wierd screaming noises, apparently they fight with the Kukaburas. We sat down and had a schooner and a lady came and told us that a Kukabura had just stolen a whole steak minus one bite off her plate!!! tee hee as we were just chillin I noticed a hole in the roof I can only assume it's where a light used to be and I saw something moving around in it so I went to explore and found a possom in the roof, if I put my hand up he would hang out of the hole and try and grab your hand probably thinking I had some food, it was tres cute and we later saw it in the bin!! We went to bed early as there was not much to do and we had to get u early to check out and head for the Koala sanctuary.

We took all our bags with us to the Koala Sanctuary as we could get the bus straight from there to the ferry terminal. We started off seeing some Crocs, we held a little one called Barbie, they are actually really soft. We headed for some shelter as the rain came down again. Then we saw some Parrots, one of which we got to hold and we had some sunflower seeds which you could put in your lips and the parrot would be so gentle and take it from you and chow down, then we held a blue tongue lizard luckily it stuck it's tongue out for our photos otherwise it just looks like a normal lizard!! Then people held the Koalas which we had already done so we didn't as you had to pay $14 to do so (a law that was passed saying people holding them was too stressful for them so they have to charge as a way of putting people off doing it and they can only work 3 hours a day 4 days a week and not 4 days in a row!! I wanna join there union!!!) Then we held a Python which was really nice Paul was abit shocked at how they felt, I'd held them before but I felt more comfortable with this snake it was abit more chilled out. Paul was so funny he was always the first one to jump up and want to hold everything, he turned into a big tres funny!! So we headed to wait for the bus which just drove right by us, only thing was we missed that, then we would miss the ferry and our greyhound so we freaked!!! we had to call a cab which seemed to take forever but we made it thank god!! This bus was better as we had air con and we got to watch 2 films!! Fools Gold and Click, it's so much better for passing the time and neither of us had a book to read. We finally got to Cairns and the boys were there waiting for us, we got in the same room as them which was nice to share rooms with people you know and you all do the same stuff or just coming in at the same time makes a big difference.

Today was the boys last day, Lew and Adam had gone white water rafting so Drew, Andy, Paul and I all headed into town just for a wonder around, it's not very big to be honest or much to do here other than the diving which we were waiting for Tom to turn up before doing also they have all been cancelled recently cause of the rain. We got some food, which we all chipped in for and we made Fajitas!!! well nice!!! Then we played pool all night with a jug of ised tap water!! yes we are all skint!!

So the boys are gone, we are all alone again. Well not quite we have Morgan, Jo and Wizzy are all still here too but it means we are now in a room on our own which means there will be new roomies, I hate this bit. We have a French guy who I was talking to and I told him everywhere we had been, LA, San Fran, Vega, Hawaii, Fiji, NZ and he asked me what the surfing was like in Bali?!?!?!? not sure where he got Bali from but I told him it was good!! I try not to talk to him n=much now before I get myself into trouble!! We went to the cinema and watched Twilight, that vampire film it was ok passed the time, then I bought a new book IT which I am enjoying even though it jumps around alot fom past, present and future tense which confuses me abit but you all know how easily I get confused anyways!!

Yesterday we went to the cinema again (there really is nothing to do here!!!!) we watched Marly and Me and I balled my eyes out!!! I actually looked like I'd been crying for a week!! We went back to the hostel as we get a free entree which was cheesy chips with gravy then cause we are staying more than 4 nights we get free dinners at Rhinobar, it's like a soup kitchen for the homeless and we had a choice of Veg Satay, Chicken Satay or Spag Bol, we all had Spag Bol, not bad!!! we will be going again tonight!!! can;t say no to free food!!! And now well yes it's still raining and we stiall have nothing to do but I refuse to go to the cinema 3 days in a row and we haven't done what Paul and Glen did last time and go to the cinema twice in one day!!!
