Bikepacker's South American Adventure
This is it. Started out with a walking tour of the city but snuck out when we got to a nice cafe. I am not capable of handling a guide who is so high energy before I have a latte! He was actually a very good guide, but my frame of mind was not there. I feel like wandering alone and just making multiple cafe stops today. I have to leave for the airport at 2 am so my schedule is going to be very odd if I attempt to get any sleep. The last day of a vacation is always hard. The temptation is to cram everything in, but then the thought of silently just absorbing the surroundings is also a big draw for me. I think I will choose the latter today.
I did some more exploring and even bumped into a pair of travelers that I met in Otavalo. I must be too close to the gringo trail for comfort. They were a very funny pair and it was nice to hear how their time in the jungle was. So many things to do around here! Treated myself to a fancy farewell dinner. After too many days of eating bread I have some making up to do. I will miss all of the fresh fruit and wonderful juices here.
As much as I look forward to seeing my family and espresso maker, it will be hard to say good bye.
Thanks for tagging along with me on this trip. Once I get home and can access photos from the camera I will upload them. Should be plenty, especially from Galapagos!
