This is it. Started out with a walking tour of the city but snuck out when we got to a nice cafe. I am not capable of handling a guide who is so high energy before I have a latte! I am really not feeling great today so it seems to be the best day to just hang about town. The first thing I did was go up the Teleferico , or cable car. It goes way above town and you can just ride the car up, hang out and ride it back down. More adventurous souls hike from there, but it is not safe to do it alone, so for once I was smart. Today has been a long day of travel and a mix of new and old. It started with a 3 am pickup to get to the airport in Montevideo. Now, I am trying to stay awake in a hostal in the tiny town of Tababela, Ecuador. It is not far from the airport, but definitely outside of Quito.
