Left Auckland early am and spent my first day aboard the magic bus! After the obligatory stop at mcdonalds for brekkie, we head towards waitomo. With several very expensive options available, i decided just to wander, went in the museum about caves and glow worms, learnt a lot about them! went on a walk to a look out, but there were so many cows in the pathway that we had to walk right out of the way to get round them! Arrived at Rotorua about 4.30pm, and went for a walk with the girl in my room (got put in a twin room) to see the geothermal pools, which smell revolting and judging from the amount of steam emitted, are extremely hot! hot enough to cook a human in 46 seconds! Wandered down to the lake to watch the sunset and the moon was so bright! went into the town for a good nandos, and realised how cold it is! there was lots of snow on the south island today so may invest in a jumper! back at the hostel now, have to be up early for some white water adventures!
