Trip from Jasper, Alberta through Banff National Park was just spectacular! While we have had beautiful scenery in a number of locations, today was the best of the best! 287 miles to get to Calgary. Tonight is our last night in Canada. Tomorrow night...back in U.S. In Great Falls MT. Along with scenery on ride today, our highlight was seeing a grizzly bear walking in woods parallel to highway...about 10 yards off of road. See pic above. Additional pics of scenery...

Picture taken 60 miles north of entrance to Jasper National Park. Another spectacular view of Canadian Rockies. Left Smithers, BC early this morn and travelled 487 to here. Rain on and off most of trip. Views still beautiful but not much opportunity for really good pics. Added a few to Photo Section. Tomorrow we plan to travel south to Banff/Lake Louise area...and end up in Calgary tomorrow night.

Another spectacular day. 520 miles of sunshine and green rolling hills. Border crossing was uneventful. We're adjusting to Canadian money and buying gas by the liter. On to Dawson Creek in B. C. Tomorrow.

Been to alcohol bars and salad bars but never a gas bar.
