27th and final night in a hotel. We're in Rockford, Illinois after 528 (8766 total). We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Thunder Bay Restaurant and tomorrow we launch for home.

Left Gillette WY at 7:00 this morning heading to Sioux Falls SD. Arrived here about 5:30 pm ( lost an hour). 489 miles covered bringing our 26 day total miles to 8,238. No scenery pics taken today. First day ride after Bernie's 3 day hospitalization was a successful one! Bernie did great!!! 11 hours travel time and 470 miles from Great Falls,MT to Gillette,WY. Gusty/Heavy winds slowed us down in Montana. (Jeff Chokreff will remember similar wind...only colder...4 years ago in SD and Wy!) This update covers both yesterday and today (June 28/29). Bernie spent days 2 & 3 in hospital being treated for severe kidney infection. Happy to report that he was released this afternoon, with an antibiotic prescription...and instructions from doctor to stay hydrated. We had a great dinner (of course anything would taste great after his meals at hospital for last 3 days). He's looking forward to a good nights sleep back in hotel. Assuming he feels good in m...
