Ben and Marie's American Road Trip
Today we were heading for Santa Fe, along Route 66 a little way. We would be following one of the old Route 66 trails that ends in Santa Fe, and then we will come South again and rejoin the route where we left off. We headed out from Tucumcari fairly early once we were ready, I had been out for a jog round the camp before showering. Worry about my weight was starting to set in. We were driving West and then slightly North after that, we first came into a place called Santa Rosa, which held claim to an auto museum, so naturally we had to visit on the pass through. They had some lovely cars in there, plus the now what seemed usual Route 66 memorabilia. There were mustangs in there and they had a gorgeous Plymouth Roadrunner. We had a good look round, taking plenty of photos and then set off again. We had stopped in Santa Rosa for a Dairy Queen as well, I had the guardians of the galaxy brookie blizzard, it was pretty damn good. Marie had a salad. Yay. We set off again and drove on some really fun roads through New Mexico, lots of turns and scenic views. We had a good sing as well as the radio got a lot better than either gospel or country fm. We arrived at our campsite at around 4 and started setting the tent up. As soon as we did that we went into Santa Fe to the cinema to watch the new Guardians of the Galaxy film. I was so excited, I think I've watched the trailers around 10 times each, marie has been getting sick of them. We got our seats and they were super comfy and the film was amazing. Exactly what I expected. After that, we got McDonald's for tea and I got approached by a dodgy guy outside. We drove back to camp and decided to stay in the car as it was chilly.
