The trip to Koh Tao was the first one that actually took shorter than the time advertised. We were on a bus for about 6 hours then a boat for about an hour and a half. When we got off the jetty we found a bloke holding a 'Crystal' sign which is the company we booked up with, so followed him to the diving school and bungalows.
Once we got there we had to fill out loads of forms and things for our PADI scuba diving qualification, and then check into our rooms, we had already paid for the accommodation in the price but we wanted a room for three people and air-con. The only one they had left was the VIP suite and for a tenner a night each we thought we would treat ourselves. The air-con was amazing, even too cold at times. Three comfy beds and two showers.
On the forms there are loads of health questions, and as Lloyd and Assad had a history of asthma, we had to go to the local clinic and get a check up to make sure we were ok to dive. The check was pathetic, a doctor held a stethoscope to our chest for about 5 seconds then looked in our ears and signed us off. But we wasn't complaining we were good to go, well Lloyd was, Assad was to have more problems later on.
A friend of ours from home, Tasharna, was also on the island so the first night we went to meet her at the next beach, we had a good catch up with her, sharing travelling stories and stuff. There was also a fire show on the beach which was really impressive, then when they finish the set up a limbo competition but with a catch, the limbo bar is on fire, we all gave it a go, and succeeded, getting a free shot for the efforts. We went to a couple more bars and then headed back to our bungalow.
