Our flight was at 11am to Singapore, for a 22hr stopover before flying to Hanoi, Vietnam. We booked this because it was £200 cheaper, and then as soon as we paid it told us we had this wait! This didn't really annoy us too much because two of our friends from home, Tanya & Stefy were in Singapore so it meant we could see them.

We were going to sleep in the airport that night, but that soon changed….

On arriving in Singapore the heat and humidity hit us straight away… much different to Hong Kong! We planned to meet the girls at their hostel ( The Sleepy Kiwi ) and got a taxi straight there. The girls were nowhere to be seen when we got there, but the hostel manager knew who they were and went to wake them up from their nap! The hostel manager also let us leave our bags there so we didn't have to lug them around all day in the heat!

Once the girls were ready, we were all starving so went to a bar to get some food and a few beers! We stayed there for the next 7 or 8 hours, as the football was on so waited to watch that! Liverpool smashed Arsenal 5-1 by the way, just in case you didn't know ( sorry Sarah & Connor ) ;)

The hostel was only around £10 per night, so thought we may as well stay there to save sleeping in the airport, which meant we could shower etc in the morning, so we went back quickly to book ourselves in.

We then went to a few more bars and tried the famous cocktail called The Singapore Sling….which was very very nice, and also very strong!!

On the way back to the hostel we stumbled across lots of people dancing and a Dj down a street outside a bar. It turns out this only happens once a month and it was the best night we have had by miles! Everyone was so happy and friendly and we met a lot of different people there, our favourite being the Pocohantos lookalike ….see pictures!

After this we went to a shisha bar for a couple more relaxed drinks, before going back to bed at about 6am…

We got up at 9am for our free breakfast of fruit and toast, very hungover, said goodbye to the girls and made our way to the airport. Next stop, Vietnam…
