Right, after yesterday being a right off we were ready to do some exploring, after a little chill this morning and some breakfast we made our way up to the main road to ask about our bus ticket to Vang Vieng. We got a quote and was about to head back to grab our bits when we spoke to a nice tuk tuk (or as they a larger here I like to call them truk truks) driver and got a price to go see the two waterfalls near by. (Sae waterfall and kuang si waterfall). The first one we wet to required hiring a small motorised canoe which was lush as took you down the river past a couple of villages and felt really remote. Unfortunately these were not the greatest falls, nearly dried up and mosquito headquarters for laos, however cool to wander around and millions of huge butterflies! A quick ride back in our canoe ad we were off to the larger waterfall - and they were definitely larger! As you walk in you walk through the bear rescue centre which was amazing to see the bears so close, they were a little hot (like everyone) so were mainly all sleeping! Then you walked up hill through around 8 tiers of waterfalls, all slightly different from each other (how Hana put it was like a wet Pamukkale) until you reached the top which was incredible and definitely the largest waterfall I've seen. The thing that stood out the most though was the colour of the water, an amazing, almost unreal blue - we had a quick swim and sit down and headed back to the truk truk to head back home! Another quality day and heading out tonight for some food and to see the night market. Off travelling again tomorrow to Vang Vieng which we could be doing with our new Liverpudlian friends!
