Hi guys, since the last time we wrote we moved onto Surfers Paradise for a week. We had a great time in Surfers. It's a really touristy place with lots of high rise hotels and apartments but there is so much to do here. 16 March - We arrived in Brisbane. Brisbane is the first big city we have been to in Australia. It is the capital of Queensland. There are lots of shopping malls with cheap food courts for us to eat in and cinemas etc but also lots of older buildings too. We visited Chinatown and Fortitude Valley which had lots of street markets as it was the weekend. We also visited Queensland Museum. 11 March - We arrived in Noosa. Noosa is a really nice, upmarket seaside town. There are lots of boutique shops and posh restaurants in the town and the beach is beautiful. We stayed in the YHA hostel which is in an old "Queenslander" (huge wooden building with lots of verandahs). Hi guys here's what we've been up to at Hervey Bay. On our first day we decided to walk to the beach. We didn't realise how far away our hostel was from everything and it ended up taking us an hour and 40 minutes to walk there! Here's our journal entry from Airlie Beach!We arrived in Airlie Beach after a 11 hour bus journey from cairns. Our hostel was really nice, a bit like a holiday park in Cornwall or Devon!
