Another adventurous day here in London Town. Started off with another round of English breakfasts (we are determined to only eat fruit and salad tomorrow) before heading off for a tour of Lords crickets ground...sadly though, we discovered NZ and England were actually having a game there, thus couldn't go. But wanting to make the most of the two tube transfers to get here, we leisurely strolled though regents park, which despite having far to many bird species, was super pretty! We found the London Zoo on the other side and had a great time there as you always do at a zoo. After this we caught the bus down to St. Paul cathedral and that was just breathtaking! Out feet and legs were in quite a bit of pain though so we had a little lunch at a little pub in cheapside, before lumbering over. The height and size are over whelming. The inside decor is unexplainable and beyond magnificent. We lit candles and collected headphone sets to learn all about this truly glorious chapel. We then thought it would be a good idea to walk up the stair to the whispering gallery. Literally 5 mins of walking up columned stairs and we arrived puffing in our heavy jackets. It is extremely high and I was too scared to look down (and up) for very long, but Troy convince me to take the next flight of stair to the outer rim for a view of outside. After a bit of encouragement, we set off on another grueling clim but the view. The view made it all worth it! We stood for a while, taking in the view, before noticing a tiny door that leads you up to the very most peck. This next climb was not only scary, but on the most narrow, tiny, grated metal seps, that I nearly had a panic attack on! But once again, the view was on par with the London eye and so much more rewarding:) you felt like you were exploring hidden chambers with the low ceilings and mammoth spiral stair case. The way down however was so much worse, scared of slipping on the baby like stairs, our legs crammed and we had the hobble back to the other side of London like cripples! We had great pizzas made at a small (but very busy) pizzeria near our hotel, which we had sniffed out on our first day, after getting off a twenty hour flight! The pizza didn't disappoint (we were a bit concerned we were starved after the flight and imagined the smell ha ha). Only down side was the bizarre garlic bread which was basically dough with a price of parsley on top? Feeling content and full, we finished the night off with some pints at the museum pub next door! Ps. Apparently when is reaches 18 degrees, it's suddenly socially acceptable to talk around unbuttoning shirts and literally striping of clothing!
