After a decent breakfast at the hotel, we waisted no time in heading into the heat of Barcelona, the main street, La Rambla. After being continuously warned to really, REALLY, watch our selves on this stretch for pickpockets, we were happy to find that 930am was far to early for the lazy and easy going Spanish lifestyle, so enjoyed a nearly deserted, hassle free street. Filled with stalls, we had a blast checking them all out, before arriving at the port and beach. We admired the views looking back towards the city before headed up into the gothic quarter (with its fantastic architecture) and had sone brilliant tapas and paella. We then explored a wonderful food market, with the freshest produce we have seen since arriving in Europe. We then had a little siesta before getting ready and going to a flamenco show! The dancing was so intense and passionate, their feet and facial expressions were brilliant to watch! After that we went back to the port which has a great nightlife scene. Things don't start getting busy in barca till about 2am, so this club was just the casual started before the main event of the evening! It's called Opium, and truly beyond words to describe! We got free entry (normally 50 euros so like $75 dollars) but it was worth it, and we would have happily paid to enter regardless. Going down the stairs, it opens up into an extremely swanky lounge with private booths and bars. You walk further and it opens up onto the beach and ocean with huge lounges, seating with magnificent decor! In the middle though is a massive rave/dj set going on, with at least 5 thousand people dancing the night away! Then there were more private booths on balconies over looking the dance pit. I can't even imagine the expense of one, as they were mainly occupied by rich business men looking in fancy suits and women clutching nothing less then hermes handbags! We had an amazing time but had to leave by 4 in order to get back to the hotel, shower and pack, before getting on the bus at 645 for the French Riviera! Luckily I wasn't drinking so had a lovely and painless snooze on the bus, same can not be said for Troy he he:P
