Captains log 05/06/13, we leap out of bed bright and early after a quite night in the cheateu and down for a quick breakfast before departing. Breakfast was shrug but nothing like a coffee so bitter it b**** slaps you awake before the caffeine even has a chance to work. Then off to Barcelona, we had a delayed start because Aaron ( an exact cookie cutter image of macermore) pressed the emergency open door and sent the bus into 30 minutes of rather annoying beep at 730am. Anyhow we were off, it was quite a nice drive, I read my book most of the time only stopping for the odd chat to people, or to stop Bella from smashing her head on the glass in her sleeping state. A few of the guys spent a while standing in the isle next to us that were super keen for the chat, I feel like we have been accepted :p we made a few quick stops here and there, but nothing really interesting. We were also disappointed that we won't be getting stamps at boarders, so we won't be able to fling our passports around and be like omg stamps! We made good time to barca so we got to do some quick site seeing and a stop at the la sagrada familia, a crazy modern Christian church that has been building for over 100 years by designer Antoni gaudi. This is really a crazy wack job of a design and I can only imagine that he was on some top grade opium when sitting back drawing this bad boy. It's still not finished and won't be for another ten years or so, lazy Spanish! But it was lovely, quite amazing, maybe one thing built in the 20th century that might give us some kind of character when looked back by furture travels like we do about the 1200s chruches. We got to our hotel room and it is really nice. We got dressed and headed down for some dinner buffet style, it was ok but nothing in the buffet was Spanish, a touch disappointing. We sat around in the lobby had a few drinks and finally, after offering every night, the bus driver took me up on my beer offer, with a big smile you would think I brought him a car, it felt good. We trekked down to the metro line and headed for our first club, the fairy bar. Yes I know it sounds a touch fruity, but it was quite nice in there, 3.50 euro pints of the local brew and 7 euro cocktails and its free pour. So give a wink and a smile to old mate bar men, and hopefully you'll be getting triple strength cocktails. We had a few there and a bit of a mingle then headed to a small Aussie bar which was cool, cheap and nasty but loads of fun. Liz brought everyone a shooter on contiki and jimdog danced on the bar for a shooter, that was quite a laugh and lots of fun. We were then planning on going to the night clubs and Liz organized some crazy group of black Spanish guys who were nightclub employees, whose job it is to go to bars and get people to the club. Apart from fearing for my kidney and watching Bella turn walking from left right left right to left left stumble bump right, it was ok. We jumped on a bus club bound that was quite squishy with the group playing a giant game of look no hands as they all fell over around every turn. Right before we got to the club Bella had this genius idea to go home because well, let's just say 6/7 free pour cocktails and a shooter for our favorite little party animal, and its lights. I was a touch up set because I was super keen for a big one but it was kind of a good thing too, at least it wasn't a rerun of our going away drinks, as everyone knows how that went! The cabbie was nice be it a little clueless on we're our hotel was. Wake up feeling fresh! And a all nighter tomorrow that's the plan!
