Interlude.
I won't speak too much about the concentration camp, as its something I feel you should describe in person? Anyway, it's a very lush and pretty area. Rolling green hill, meadows of wild flowers, birds sweetly singing, but it's too quite. No one really talks, and for the silence alone, it's haunting. We watch a very informative/sad/graphic/moving video presentation at the start, then have an hour to walk around. It's not very big. There are two sleeping quarters and a third for serious prisoners. There is the medical centre (this wasn't used to cure, but to conduct experiments), an infirmary and a gas chamber. A 3meter wall surrounds the complex. Everything is neat and clean, it's almost hard to imagine the monstrosities that occurred here. Lastly there is a quarry near by, where most of them labored. They carried 50kg cut rock on theirs backs, up the massive satires. 5 people could fit across and when they fell, it would be a torrent of bodies and stone. We saw this in the video. I must also mention that in general, the village people in the area, didn't know what was going on here. A young boy at the time did, and nobody believed him, how could they? There was only one escape and people in the villages tried to hide them (once they saw what they looked like for themselves) at the detriment of their own lives.
