Well, this trip more than any other I believe went by way too fast. Thursday was our final full day in Puerto Vallarta. When we booked the trip, Jaime insisted we do at least 5 nights, but as this was just a quick little jaunt, I was adamant that 4 nights was plenty. Wow, was a wrong. But our resort, the people, our excursions, everything was so amazing, I feel like I really would have said that the trip was way too short even with 5 nights. Either way, Jaime definitely had an "I told you so moment." And rightfully so.
We had our final excursion booked for that evening, but we did not have to be ready for it until much later in the day, so we had no time constraints for the first morning/afternoon. We of course wandered down to our favorite part of the day, Breakfast at the buffet. We then came back to the room to change, but actually just chilled for a bit to allow our food to settle. Knowing we would not have time for the balcony hot tub again later, I sat out with a mimosa and enjoyed the view and private hot tub one last time while Jaime stayed in the room to relax a bit.
We then headed back down to the pool for drinks and relaxing. We also took quite a long walk down the beach. We enjoyed the scenery very much, and also took the opportunity to enjoy the ocean itself. The water was a perfect temperature for how hot it was.
We did allow plenty of time to return to the room to get ready for our final evening and excursion for the trip. We took this opportunity to dress up a bit. The excursion we booked was called Rhythms of the Night, which included a sunset boat ride to the location where dinner and the show was held. The boat ride was fantastic as it happend right around sunset, and we saw several whales breach on our way. It was so cool to see. It also included unlimited drinks, so that was fun as well.
Once we got to our destination, we were greated with music, and a cool walk lined with tiki torches and people dressed as animals, there was even a singing mermaid. Since we were one of the first ones off the boat, we got a really nice table right on the water for dinner.
After dinner, there was a little bit of time before heading to the show, so we were able to relax on a hammock while listening to the sounds of ocean crashing on the shore. A short little moment, but one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Now, onto the show. We were told this was a popular excursion, but we really had no idea what was in store. We just thought, "oh, cool dinner and a show how fun." But the show was OUT OF THIS WORLD. They had live singers, incredible acrobats, contortionists, fire dancing, aerial stunts, costumes, trampolines, basically everything you could imagine. We were blown away. On top of that, it was funny, the music was incredible, and since we paid for the VIP package for the excursion, we got to sit nice and close so that was also pretty cool.
After the show, we boarded the boat to return back to town. Now, as if this incredible show was not enough, the staff then proceeded to entertain us on the boat ride home. They dressed up and lip synched and danced to the songs of Queen. Everybody on the boat was singing, and laughing, and it was just such an amazing time. It's hard to describe the vibe exactly, but it was so unexpected for the tour operators to come out of nowhere and put on a whole freaking show for us. On top of that, the other workers were continuing to walk around to fill our drinks. We really could not recommend this tour enough. It was no wonder it was so popular. It was also a great way to end our final full day of this vacation.
The next day we had to get ready to leave for the airport which really only gave us time to eat one more breakfast at the buffet, and relax by the pool to take in the views one final time before grabbing our bags and heading home.
