We set off early from San Pedro to crossing the border into Bolivia. We had met another guy on the bus from England called Martin and so he too joined us in out 4X4. We are just about settling into the swing of the south americans as everything is "no problem!" After crossing into Bolivia we began to climb to higher altitude and saw some of the amazing sites of lakes with different colours due to the minerals within them. Even stopped at a thermal pool for a chance to take a quick dip. The first night was sleeping in a basic dorm, wearing all my clothes as a little chilly! The next day we saw more rocks and great lakes and sarah even got bitten by a scorpian, being out here is not for the faint hearted!! On our third day we drove out on the salt flats, definately the highlight of the trip! Despite the driver doing the sign of the cross before we set out we were all pretty relaxed as sped across the salt lake to Fish Island. On Fish Island took a walk to see the rather large plants and mad to think growing in the middle of the huge salt lake! One more stop at a hotel made entirely of salt and then was onto the town of Uyuni. After our trip to Bolivia had to rush back down to Santiago to catch our flight to Auckland. Over 24 hours on a bus ... got to love South America!!
