We arrived in San Pedro after an 18 hour over night bus trip from La Serena. The town is like something from a western movie with sand houses and dust streets. There is one main plaza and street, few bars and restaurants. We are now at 2500m and so just going to stay here a few days to get used to the altitude before our 4 day jeep trip across the salt plains into Bolivia on Saturday. Dan is even trying to convince me to try sandboarding tomorrow but the way i am feeling think i could only face it with a chair lift rather than a mountain bike to get to the top!! 18th March Enjoyed the morning in San Pedro and then in the afternoon. Visited the Valley of the Moon to see the sunset. It is called that due to the strange rock formations looking out of this world .. they aren't wrong!
