We arrived in Ho Chi Minh late afternoon and then it took us a little while to find a hotel. Eventually we found a nice one, with a room big enough for all of us. We then headed out for some food. I went for a chocolate pancake but it was a bit of a let down :/ then we headed to the water puppet theatre but it was closed!! So we ended up going to the cinema instead. We saw "a few best men", which was a tad cheesy, but funny. Then we went to get some food, where we may have also freaked out a bit about a cockroach and got laughed at by the locals :P the next day we went to the war remnants museum, which was really interesting! Then we went to the market for some food and present shopping. That evening we did go and see the water puppets. Which isn't particularly amazing, but very clever and quite interesting to see. The next day we went to the post office and then to Dam Sam park, the guide book made it sound pretty good, but when we got there it was basically a park for little kids that looked like no more than 5 people went there a day! Luckily the day was saved by two things. First, a ice room with ice sculptures of landmarks- the taj, Eiffel tower etc. and secondly a water flume ride which was just hilarious! Then we went back to the market for a few last minute bits and pieces and then went out for gazzas last meal :( sadly we couldn't find the restaurant she'd chosen, and by the time we did it was closed. So we ended up going to the restaurant we ate at on the first night. We then headed out for some drinks. The first place was a street place. As we were sitting there loads of locals started rushing around. Turns out the police were about to drive past and you can't have seats on the road. Then we went to a bar where a guy was doing a Michael Jackson performance in the road outside, and people were selling donuts and corn on the cob!! The next morning gaz woke us up to say goodbye :'( her flight home was earlier than ours to Hanoi. It was really strange going for breakast and everything without her! After gabbing a subway we headed to the airport, where our flight to Hanoi had been delayed- luckily only by half an hour!
