our sailing adventure begins..... well so we thought anyway. the day b4 we went we confirmed our trip on the jade only to be told we had m,issed our trip as we ahd booked on the previous one on the monday! WHAT?? we booked for the easter weekend. anyway after a lot of faffing and being told that it was full then it wasnt we managed to get on to our relief. so we went down on the firday morning expecting to go on our party boat adventure sailing trip and stay at an island resort only to be told after filling oput papaer work and hanging around for an hour that there had been a fire on board and we boat was unsailable. romour had it the skipper they fired had cut the wires and sabotarged the boat. but thats all speculation. so after compaling we had no where to stay( all hostels booked out over easter weekend) we managed to get a bed on the boat and free meals! we then went into town to sort out another boat for sat only to find out after waiting an hour at peterpans ( the one in airle is crap) and being told we could only get 50-% of our money back due to POLICY .....as there were no boats in the next few days as being the easter weekend ( a recurring catchprase) they were all full. steve went off with 2 other gals from the trip to find another boat leaving in the next few days whilst beki held down the fort and argued the case. turned out steve managed to pul out all the stops and get us onto a charterd boat that another company had put on for some of the jade passengers who had gone throught them ( if only peterpans were so good) we had to pay extra but it meant we got our trip. it turned out that there were only ten of us and we were on a proper sailing boat! although the weather wasnt great the boat trip was fantastic. we sailed to a nice bay and dropped the anchor ( this was a stayaboard boat) and hada seafood meal of giant prawns and muscles and slad yum yum. and then as it was rob the irish guys bday we set about the drinking games getting very drunk or getting rob drunk in anycase. day2 we got up early to a yummy breaky and sailed to the whitsunday island and the lookout over whitsunday beach. we got there off the speedboat and were told we had 3hours to look around laze on the beach and other such fun stuff. after the lookout which was fantastic we went down to the beach! fantasticly lovely but it ahmmered it down for the first 30mins so we donned out sexy stinger suits and dived into the water for a frolic. then the sun came out and shone! yay we got some ace photos to come soon and lazed about for a while. afterward we got bak onto th eboat for another journey to a snorkling patch which was ace. got some really good underwater snaps of me n steve and a random fish, thought it was no barrier reef. after some more sailing we docked up again we had tea and beki was so tired she fell asleelp at 9.30!bless day 3 got up even earlier and set about sailing to another snorkling patch this one wasnt as good as the first but still amazing. it weird how you can get complacent when you have seem some amazing things in cairns nothing after that seems to measure up but it was great in its own right. after some stormy sailing we made it back to shore. got out bags out of storage and had a well desreved shower everyone smelled icky. then had a yummy pizza with our group and steph the new deck hand who did well since it was her 1st time. then after a few free drinks and the villa match 3-1 to villa with an amaing goal by cahill. steve dnt belive beki when she told him as he had missed the goal but saw the replay and was amazed! a great start to a night on the bus 2 1770 and the best hostel in auz!
