Reluctantly we left Gwalagwala and the African bush for another long journey. 20hours later we arrived in Zurich. With a very easy trip through customs, so easy you could almost walk straight out, it was time to work out how to catch the train. With our massive backpacks on and zero German in our vocabulary we found catching a train more difficult than we thought and jumped on a train we hoped was going where we wanted to go. Thankfully it was and we headed out to find our hostel. We were instantly struck with how beautiful the city was. We were in the oldtown where beauttiful old buildings lined the cobblestoned streets and the magnificent alpine river ran straight through the centre. At 8am in the morning it was also almost commpletely deserted. After dropping our bags off we now had to fill in time until 3pm when we could check in and finally get some sleep after a typical sleepless overnight flight. We set out to explore the city. Every street was like a postcard picture as we walked aimlessly around. We caught a ferry around the lake and watched the many parks which lined the water fill with people using the lake to cool off on the hot summers day. Some areas had slippery slides, pontoons and even a trampoline on water. It all looked so ideallic. We could definitely live here.
