In Hornillos tonight and just entering the Meseta which is supposed to be hot flat and boring.....tests the mind! A change is good as my body has certainly been tested.
Stayed in Burgos last two nights as we took a day off and played tourist as you can see from the pic. A really beautiful city of 180,000 with many parks cafés restaurants and bronze statues. It has the 2nd largest cathedral in Spain, Seville having the largest. Spectacular and built in stages over many centuries with a large art collection inside and many tombs of VIPs. Can't imagine the $ spent.
Back walking today and can feel the day off...a little stiff. 469 km to Santiago! We have been walking 16 days and the time has passed surprisingly fast. Feeling good.
Keep meeting up with people we met earlier along the way. Lots of good times.
Just love this freedom of walking thru Spain with my pack......not a care in the world and hundreds of different vistas each day. Life is very good indeed.
So wish me luck on the long hot Meseta over the next few days.

Cheryl Talbot Incredible Heather! Or should we call you "Buns" now, lol.
Ken Hi sweetheart from what I hear we are going to have to start shopping at the skinny ass store for people with buns of steel. I would guess you have started the long walk across the heart of Castile country which dominated Spain's history the land of big blue sky's as you walk towards Astorga. expect olive trees again on the roadside along this part of the El Camino and lots of wild flowers I FINALLY Found how to open the fridge from the inside and have moved back outside, next time I'll take my winter clothes. ha ha Well I can't stay and chat, have to get out on my marathon bike ride and work off the pizza. love you girl - Ken s
