Retired & Traveling
Woke up this morning to see that we had already docked & the view was spectacular of the sea & mountains around us. I got to watch a Norwegian Cruise ship sail in & dock, which is really something to see because they are so huge! We found out that our steward, Allan, is leaving us today & we're all sad to see him go because he has been wonderful.
We had to catch a shuttle bus to the Port Terminal & then we walked for about 1.5 miles to catch the subway. Teena & I were ready to shoot Brian & Rich because we wanted to take a taxi. The subway was a little confusing but we managed to figure it out & got on the correct train. It was packed, very hot & we had to go for about 6 stops. After we got off, we came out of the station & started walking towards the Acropolis which towers over the city. Of course, it's all uphill & I literally thought I was going to pass out. Thank goodness there was a nice breeze going & I had plenty of water. We finally made it to the ticket booth & waited in line for quite some time but once we had our tickets in hand, we were on our way. The sights of the city from atop there were really something to see---I know the pictures won't do it justice, but we'll post some asap.
Speaking of pictures, we haven't posted many because they take so much time to upload & then there's no time to write. So it's kind of been an either/or situation and I figured I could always go back & post pictures once we have a good internet connection. I had a lot of trouble last night just posting the blog--it kept giving me an error message.
Anyway, very lucky with our weather--again--low humidity, great breezes & sunny. We enjoyed a traditional Greek lunch at this out of the way place; the most delicious Greek salad with a Greek beer & souflaki, which means "fast food" in Greek but was basically a kebob made of either chicken or pork. Also, some really yummy bread and pitas with a dill dip....again with the waddling!! Teena & I both are craving some baklava but cannot find it ANYWHERE!! Is it a Greek thing or not, we want to know!! We found a small bakery & even they did not have it. Bummer. Coming back to the ship, we took the subway, then a bus, then the shuttle & made it easy breezy. Off to do some laundry, more later!
And you lurkers out there....leave a comment or two!! I want to know who is still on The Voice, what's happening in the world?? And has Eli cut any more teeth? :)

tracicope Just got caught up on your last 3 blog posts-think they were delayed getting uploaded bc they weren't there yesterday! I can't wait to see some more pictures, but I know what you mean about it taking forever :) Glad yall are having fun and I hope you're not getting TOO many magnets over there-I'm not sure your board can handle them! lol
Crystal I was surprised to see all the new posts today too since I've also been checking it everyday. No new teeth for Eli - thank goodness! He ran a fever all night/day when it broke through. He's completely weaned now :( and taking milk great. We're about to start switching to sippy cups and have him eat the prepared food at daycare. Your posts about all the yummy food make me hungry and want to drink wine!
