Retired & Traveling
We left the apartment around 8:30 this morning, caught the subway and changed to the local bus #60 for a ride up to Notre Dame. The bus dropped us off right at the foot of the stairs, which was a whole lot closer than the other day when we were on the tour bus. And we had the place to ourselves for about 30 minutes! Even then, it was just a trickle of people, nothing like it would've been the other day. The views from up there were incredible, you can see almost the entire city. I can understand why it's the 2nd largest in France. We spent some time just admiring the views and enjoying the weather, then caught the bus back down. Since Rich doesn't drink coffee and I'd already had two cups, we bought a soda at Burger King and people watched. Their store is located in a prime spot for this activity. :)) We decided to head home and plan some more of our trip. We stopped off at Hong King Gardens where we ate dinner our first night and made reservations for this evening--it's our 36th anniversary! It's also Eli's birthday today--Happy 5th my sweet boy!! So glad we got to FaceTime him. On to Bologna tomorrow for the Tuscany area.
