Retired & Traveling
We met bright and early for breakfast today. Played one of those "hurry up and wait" games. Our ship was due to dock at 8:00 am and wouldn't you know, every other day when we've had a late tour, our ship has been early. Not so today. We eventually got the green light to board a water shuttle to take us to the port of Toulon. We got a tour of the harbor first, but between the rocking of the boat and the tour guide's voice, I napped most of the time. :) Once we got off the shuttle, our guide was a little bitty French woman and she gave us a tour of the town. It's not a very large city, or didn't seem to be anyway. We saw a market, where they were selling all kinds of stuff but mostly fresh fruits and veggies. We went inside a very old church and then she showed us the opera house. There were some typical squares and streets, a nice little tour. I made a quick stop into a souvenir shop, bought my magnet, and caught the first shuttle back to the ship. I spent the rest of the day watching movies on our room tv, just napping and relaxing. We met up for another formal night--lobster, doncha know! Can't miss that. We also had the Beef Wellington, which is always so tender and yummy. We caught the show after dinner, a comedian/magician, Ben Seidman. He was very good--voted entertainer of the year on Princess. Time for bed for us after that, touring Genoa tomorrow.
