We finally got our Mexican food itch scratched!! Our food guide had given us the name of a place that she swore had great Mexican food, and she didn't steer us wrong! Tortilla chips and some of the best guacamole I've ever eaten!! They don't do ground beef here for some reason, so I opted for chicken tacos. They weren't quite what I was expecting or hoping for, but they were still delicious. Rich had enchiladas and although they weren't what you'd get in Texas, they were quite tasty, too. We had the bartender make us a classic frozen margarita, and he did an excellent job! We ate every bite and waddled out of there. We are trying to think about how to fit in another visit before we leave. :)
After our bellies were full, we went to go see the tv tower which has some "babies" crawling up the side of it. I forget the story, but the sculptor, David Cerny, is the one behind it. He's the same sculptor that did the Pissing Statues from our Bike Tour day.
You can go up in the tower to the top observation deck, for a fee of course, and see the entire city. The pictures we took don't do it justice, but it was beautiful.
Next on Rich's to-do list was to get a gelato from this place that was all the way across town. We caught the subway, then a tram and the stop was right in front of the shop, Angelatos. I got sorbet, he got chocolate and hazelnut. Very creamy! We were going to try to ride the funicular, but the line was too long. We'll try doing that another day.
We walked over the river and made our way down to where we could catch one of the boats that does tours. We opted for the two hour tour, and only had to wait a few minutes before it left.
It was raining and cold this morning, 51, but it had cleared up and was just beautiful in the afternoon. It made for a very pleasant boat ride. Plus they served drinks, which I took advantage of and enjoyed some of the locally brewed beer. :)
Just as we were about to return to the pier to disembark, it began pouring rain. However, by the time we actually got off the boat, it was just sprinkling and my raincoat was all I needed. We caught a couple of trams and were back at the apartment in no time.
Another fun day in Prague!
