The metro stop is only about a two minute walk from our apartment, so getting around the city is pretty easy as far as that's concerned. We bought our tickets at a tobacco shop, then had to figure out how to validate them. This metro system doesn't have a turnstile to go through, which is so different from others we've been on.
We managed to get on the correct train and off at the right place. Had a bit of trouble finding the tram stop thanks to a google maps glitch, but we found it and it saved us a whole lot of walking.
The bike shop was pretty easy to find, and there were only 4 of us on the tour. The other couple was from San Diego. Patrick was our guide, a native born Czech. However, his father was a diplomat and lived all over the world, so Patrick had a very unique upbringing. He speaks 4 languages, including his own and English, plus Russian and Italian! His English was quite good, so it was easy to understand him.
We were riding electric bikes, which assist you with the pedaling. Since Prague is so hilly, it was really nice to have this ability. We went all over the city and in some cases, we had to be really careful not to run over other tourists. The popular places were very crowded.
We saw a lot of the major sights and the tour took about 5 hours. Was a wonderful way to spend our first day in this beautiful city!
